In Toughie terms there is nothing too difficult here – I even managed to derive the French poem from the anagram fodder and most, but not all, of the checking letters.

Good morning from South Staffs on another sunny autumn morning.
A nice pangram from Giovanni today – and if I’d realised sooner that I was looking for a pangram, I wouldn’t have taken so long to get 7d, my last one in.

Congratulations to the Saturday Mysteron who, if my reading of the Nina – complete a century – revealed in the outside ‘down’ rows is correct, has completed a century of crosswords for the Daily Telegraph. A not-too-difficult Saturday puzzle, especially if you are a fan of anagrams, of which I counted seven.

‘Phew!’ was my reaction to the first proXimal puzzle that I blogged and so I started this one with some trepidation. However the bottom half went in fairly quickly with the help of the two long anagrams. The top half took longer but even so I would have probably only have given the puzzle 3* for difficulty had I not spent a long time trying to suss out how the clue for 25 across worked.

Good morning everyone. One of the things that I like about Thursday crosswords is their unpredictability – it’s also one of the things that makes me nervous about doing the hints. I’m sure that this one is a Ray T and I found it fairly tricky – unless I’ve missed some there are only three anagrams which may have contributed to the difficulty, for me anyway.
