I was heading for * time until I was brought up short by 26a, and it took a little while first to identify the definition and secondly to parse it..

Lovely, straightforward start to my Saturday solving. The fact that there are six anagrams and, as Caravaggio commented “… this puzzle evoked memories of Saturday’s past”, I think this week it is thank you to Cephas rather than one of the Saturday Mysterons.

A straightforward Thursday puzzle. Only the time spent justifying the last couple of answers raised it above 1* for difficulty.

Good morning everyone – it’s a real November morning in Oxford. On the plus side I’m sure we have a Ray T crossword. It has all his trademarks – short clues, a bit of innuendo although not as much as sometimes and the Queen puts in an appearance. I found some of it quite tricky.

Having got all the letters on the top row I was convinced that we were going to get a message round the periphery but nothing more emerged (unless I’m missing something). I made heavier weather of this than I normally do with Osmosis and there are a couple of clues which I’m not sure that I’ve correctly interpreted – so I’m looking forward to your better explanations.
