  1. Sister and Brother – in – law coming over from Canada to visit. They’re stopping with us for a week, so will be unable to attend. Have a good time everyone that’s going. http://bigdave44.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yes.gif

  2. Sadly, am away that day, so will miss being with all those that make it. But I know those there will have a super time…http://bigdave44.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_bye.gif

  3. Are many BD bloggers planning to attend? I would like to – but may leave it till the Little Venice do if not a proliferation of DT solver amateurs!

    1. Do come along – you’ll have a really good time as there will be bloggers solvers and setters to meet.

  4. Trying to arrange cover for pooches, Ascot Beer Fest on 3rd Oct, Sloggers and Betters in York on 24th ,Sheffield beer festival festival 22 and 23 Oct. Eek, and closer to home events in between. Will try to be there always a friendly bunch

  5. I’ll be turning up but be warned that I am well out of practice (Crosswords, that is, not having a beer!)

  6. I’d love to come. Met the big man himself in Cambridge along with a lot of friendly folk. I’d post a pic, if I knew how to do that and it was OK. If Elgar is hosting the quiz ………..

However it’s South Africa v Wales at HQ that day. I’ve mopped my tears away now after England’s demise.

    Have a great day.

    1. To post a picture it has to be available online – you can add it to Flickr, Photobucket or Facebook and add a link, or email it to me and I’ll upload it for you.

      This one is already uploaded:

  7. Thanks Dave. I was limping around a bit that day but a few drinks took the pain away!

I now have a new left hip; nice bit of titanium and ceramic. The toll of all those years playing rugby.

If you are ever in East Northamptonshire do look us up, along with any other addicts who might like a tour around Oundle.

    Best wishes

    Khinjan

  8. I’ll be there from lunchtime or mid-afternoon, depending on my progress in the competition. At least I have the day off work from the big building next to it.

  9. There’s a post on T4TT about tube closures tomorrow –

“looking at the planned closures, you’re only scuppered if you’re coming into London via Liverpool Street. Northern Line from Euston/Kings Cross and Jubilee Line from Waterloo are both unaffected, as is Bakerloo Line from Paddington/Marylebone.”

Fortunately I am taking the Northern Line from Kings Cross but I thought others might like this information in case they are not.

  10. Thank you so much BD and Crypticsue for being so welcoming. I didn’t really get the chance to say how much I appreciate the website. My husband enjoyed the convention too and has said that he will attempt a crossword. What more could I ask.

    1. Nice to meet you and Weekend Wanda too – I like putting faces to names. Hope to see you all at the January Birthday Celebrations.
