Good morning from South Staffs, damp after overnight rain, with the promise of more to come.

A couple of clues in the NW corner held me up a little this morning, putting the solving time right on the border between ** and ***

Morning All! I’m fairly sure that this was a Cephas production. A couple of chestnuts and  some good charades made it a pretty fair puzzle for all.

An anagram in a Beam Toughie! I never thought I’d live to see the day. This was a tricky puzzle with a mixture of straightforward clues and some that were definitely not straightforward. Some of the wordplay needed teasing out. I enjoyed the challenge and won’t be complaining about lack of toughness this week.

Hola from the Vega Baja on another beautiful autumn morning which makes a nice change from the 24 hours of torrential rain we had on Tuesday.

I found this puzzle quite enjoyable even though some of the surfaces are a bit iffy.  It took a while for the penny to drop on 4d but otherwise there’s nothing much to frighten the horses.

This is another very enjoyable puzzle by Micawber. I didn’t find it that difficult and my biggest problem was that the Puzzles website adamantly refused to accept my answer to 12a; that’s now been sorted out by a change to the clue – see below.

In a couple of days we are off for a family gathering at the Wairakei Resort Hotel which is just north of Lake Taupo.  It is in the geothermal region with lots of things to see and do. Should be fun and we are really looking forward to it.

Good fun again from Jay with just one word that we had to discover in the BRB.

This is a fairly typical puzzle by one of the Tuesday Mysterons – pretty straightforward but with not a great deal of pizzazz. Do let us know what you thought of it and how you got on.

I solved and reviewed this early today because Saint Sharon wants to see The Poppies at The Tower Of London. I didn’t know they did gigs at The Tower and I have no idea what songs The Poppies sang. I suppose she has to get her own back for the number of times I have inflicted Bob Dylan and Van Morrison upon her. Wish me luck. An excellent and tricky puzzle today which took a little longer than usual especially the North East (Top Right) corner.
