I’m pretty sure that this is a Ray T puzzle. The Quick crossword has all his idiosyncrasies, including a homophone in the first two across clues that you have to repeat over and over again before the penny drops.

This is the Christmas Eve puzzle from Rufus. He gave us a cracker with a seasonal theme and plenty of pies. If you have a feeling of deja vu about the review you’re right – this is pretty much what I published on Christmas Eve morning before I realised that it was a prize puzzle.

Firefly has given us a themed puzzle today, based on the famous work by 10a about the stories told by each of the travellers on a pilgrimage from Southwark to a cathedral city in Kent. It’s entertaining, but once you’ve grasped the theme it’s fairly straightforward, especially if, like me, you had to study the work for O-level English.
Please click on one of the stars below to indicate how much you enjoyed it, and your comments, as always, are very welcome.

Welcome to the first Monday of 2011. Rufus has returned, and we have an enjoyable, but not overly taxing solve today. Some of you may need some help for some of the cryptic definitions – but I doubt it.
If my cryptic hints are not good enough to let you work out the answer, just highlight the space between the curly brackets.

Not the Saturday Prize Puzzle – 047
A Puzzle by Tilsit

I solved this on New Year’s Day in dribs and drabs whilst lying in bed suffering from man flu feeling as though I had the collective hangover of the nation – which was very unfair as I had not had a drop to drink the night before! As result, I think that I found this harder than usual. Revisiting the crossword today for the review, it all seems a lot simpler.
As usual Tilsit has produced an excellent crossword with lots to savour. My favourite clues were 23/24a, 10a and 3d.
