ScrewedUp News – Feb 28

Edition 5

+ – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – +

A couple of problems to report today.

The Giant General Knowledge crossword No 12251 is not yet available online.

There is a problem with Codewords No 1237.

Using a notation similar to that used for the chessboard, each square is identified with a unique letter/number pair. The vertical columns are labeled A through M (from the left) and the horizontal rows are numbered from 1 to 13 (from the top).  Each square of the crossword is uniquely identified by its column letter and row number.

For Codewords No 1237,  Mrs BD reports:

C3, K1 and K3 should all be numbered 2 (instead of 1)

The online grid uses totally different numbers to the published grid, but applying the above corrections should make it playable.

Further to the above, the Codewords for last Wednesday, No 1234, was correct yesterday but when I printed it out today all the numbers had changed, and it is now incorrect.

To make this one work, change K9 to 22 (instead of 1)

  1. Another ScrewedUp screwup!

Apparently I entered Toughie 103 – I didn’t even open it, let alone attempt it.

Is says it tooke me -43 minutes (That’s MINUS 43 minutes).

I don’t know if this link will work here, but here goes. (It’s a clickable thumbnail to a screenshot of my result for this puzzle).

And today’s Giant GK crossword is still not up on the site.

    Ho hum!!!

  2. Dave, another ScrewedUp, the QUICK General Knowledge is last weeks as well. If I click on the link, I end up viewing the one I did last week.

  3. Yesterday’s Giant GK Crossword still isn’t available on-line, neither is today’s Quick Crossword. Non-appearances are becoming regular in Clued Up, to say nothing of the Codeword problem above (about the fourth time this has happened) and crosswords whose grids do not match the clues.

Having paid my subscription to the Crossword Society (as it was previously called) I feel short-changed and get the distinct feeling that Clued Up is left to “the lad”.
