Today the CluedUp site was ported to a different server. Unfortunately, as Gazza reports elsewhere, it seems to be powered by a Sinclair ZX-80.
I will be out for the rest of the morning, so today’s blogs may be a bit late. In anticipation of problems, we have secured, courtesy of Phil McNeill, copies of the two puzzles, together with the Quick crossword.

03-08-2009 – As Libellule reports, this was corrected at some time today.
The site has been relatively well behaved in recent weeks, apart from an occasional glitch with the numbers on Codewords, the random presentation of the wrong grid which is corrected when you try again and the ever-present poor performance which becomes intolerable at certain times of the day.
Today Libellule reports that the Quick GK – No. 106 provides the clues but no grid. This applies to both the playable and printable versions.

As usual with Home screen problems, this one only lasted for the day and the following day’s Home screen was OK.
Libellule reports that you can’t get the printable versions of the Quick or Daily Cryptic crosswords from the Home screen.

Just to be awkward, this has now been changed to (3,3,5,4), even though Chambers gives it as (3-3-5,4)!
My entry was also reset as if I had never completed the puzzle!
I bet you thought that ScrewedUp News had ceased publication! The website has been much better of late, and the last issue was over a month ago. Today DT 25949 had given the wrong length for 15 across.

Late news – Mrs BD, optimistically confident that the Codewords couldn’t be wrong again this week, has found that it is wrong!
Yes, that’s right, there’s a problem with the squares numbered 1 yet again.

Well – you will have plenty of time to stand and stare today without your regular diet of Saturday’s Giant GK Crossword!

26/04/2009 – A new, improved, version of Codewords 1285 is now available online.
Another weekend and another screwup in the codewords. Is it really that hard to get it right?
