Tilsit had arranged for transport to take him to the hospital for 7:00am this morning and by 10:30am he was still waiting. No complaints from me as I got the job of reviewing this wonderful Notabilis puzzle

Best puzzle of the week, thank you Virgilius. Some clues fall into easier to solve than explain territory, and it is impossible to pick favourites from so many good examples, although revisiting the crossword for the review has made the one clue I didn’t like ‘grow’ on me!

This is a fairly routine Giovanni puzzle with a fair sprinkling of proper names. After last week’s Nina I looked carefully for another (but in vain). Let us know how you enjoyed it.
If you need, in spite of the hint, to see an answer, just highlight the spaces between the curly brackets under the clue.

Morning All! I raced through this puzzle from Cephas and whilst reviewing it thought that there were some attractive clues but a few clues that were telegraphed (ahem) to the point that they went in without thinking.

Bufo is unavailable today so I have moved from the back page to the Toughie.
This is a pleasant if unexciting puzzle.

Maybe it was the effect of a late night, after a gruelling tennis match against mighty Brighton, but I found this at the high end of difficulty for a back-pager. All the clues were solvable with the application of a little preservation, so get stuck in and enjoy it. A satisfying solve.

Over the past six Wednesdays I’ve had Toughies from Notabilis, Elkamere (twice), Osmosis, Micawber and Elgar to blog. Impossible to keep up that standard, I thought, but today sees the return, after a long absence, of the wonderful Dada (whom you may know better as Paul, Mudd or Punk from other publications). This is really great stuff but not too difficult – if I have one criticism it’s that the grid is very “cornery” so that it’s essentially four mini-puzzles.
Tell us what you thought and please take the time to record your enjoyment factor by clicking on one of the stars below.

Hola from the Vega Baja where the weather has been great for the last few days – it’s been nearly as warm as the UK!
Today we have the usual great stuff from the Wednesday Wizard and with the added bonus that it’s a pangram. I think this is the first one Jay’s produced since I started doing the Wednesday blog – unless there’s been one I missed or have forgotten about! It didn’t help me much as I’d got all the obscure letters before twigging. It’s mostly straightforward, with a few anagrams nicely spread around the grid to get you going, but there’s a few I think will cause a bit of head-scratching.
