Good morning, fellow puzzlers. No good asking me who the setter is on this puzzle, as I am well outside my Thursday comfort zone, having swopped days with Huntsman this week.

There is a European feel to today’s puzzle, with references to Finland, Germany, France, Portugal and Scotland, with Europe itself making an appearance in 2d.  A pleasant enough solve and fairly gentle as befits a Tuesday. If pushed, I would propose 3d as my CoD.

In the blog below, the definition element of each clue has been underlined, anagrams are CAPITALISED and the crossword technique “indicator words” are in brackets. The answers are concealed under the “Click Here” buttons.  Please leave a comment telling us how you got on and what you thought of the puzzle.  Please also try to be positive – it’s only a bit of fun.

Many thanks to our setter and to the DT Crossword Team.

Mercifully cooler here in Harpenden this morning & the forecast says we may well catch some much needed rain.

Today’s Plumb production was maybe a tad trickier than X-Type’s puzzle yesterday though still straightforward enough. As ever nicely clued throughout & perfectly enjoyable. There did seem to me to be more  than the usual number of single letter insertions & deletions, which I don’t suppose I would have necessarily noticed had I not been required to write the hints. I did try to hide some of the music clips under the click here facility following SJB’s guidance but couldn’t get the hang of it so apologies if any spoil it for those requiring the hint.

It’s a gorgeous sunny day here in Harpenden & not too hot. Unfortunately I’m nursing a sore back so the golf course will have to do without me today. Attending to a multitude of neglected household chores seems like the order of the day though I expect I’ll find ways to put them off.

Today’s Typically Tuesdayish  production from the Prof (I assume) is a gentle puzzle that ought to please those who struggled with X-Type’s back-pager yesterday. As ever it very entertaining & full of 26d clueing throughout. As usual there are a selection of tunes for those interested to accompany the hopefully correct hints.

It looks like another hot one today so I don’t intend to repeat the mistake of yesterday & walk round the golf course in the worst of heat. I had originally arranged to switch shifts with Shabbo having mistakenly thought I was playing in a senior open event at Aspley Guise but fortunately realised yesterday that it’s tomorrow so we’re back in our usual slots.

I thought today’s offering another typically gentle & elegant puzzle off the Plumb production line. I doubt many will require the hopefully correct hints but, along with the usual selection of tunes, they’re provided below.

A bit of an overcast start to the day here in Harpenden after some much needed overnight rain  but the sun has now come out & it’s brightening up nicely which suits me fine for golf this afternoon.

This one took me a bit longer to complete than is usual for me with an AP puzzle but I think that was probably the result of another poor night’s sleep due to this hot weather. As ever nicely clued throughout & with some excellent surface reads. I’m swapping shifts with Shabbo next week as he has once again agreed to accommodate my golfing commitments.

I am standing in for Huntsman today, who is chasing a small white ball around the links courses of North Norfolk this week.  I hope the weather there is as good is it here today in Hertfordshire.  It is a glorious morning.

Tuesdays are not my area of expertise, as you know, so I will not even have a stab at Guess the Setter. Over to you, dear reader.  I found today’s puzzle an enjoyable mix of the very straightforward (23a) and the slightly more obscure (28a). What did you think?

A bit of an overcast start to the day here in Harpenden but the sun has now come out & it’s brightening up nicely.

A typically enjoyable puzzle from the Prof (presumably) that ought not to present too many difficulties. Hints (hopefully correct) & the usual assortment of music clips are provided. I’m off golfing at Sheringham in Norfolk next week so Shabbo has very kindly agreed to fill in & establish an early lead in our race to a second ton. I’ve a busy afternoon ahead with the deep joys of doctor, optician & financial advisor but will try to keep an eye out if amendments required.

Good morning, fellow cruciverbalists.  For the next two Tuesdays, I am filling in for Huntsman, who has prior commitments elsewhere.

I found this fairly straightforward, as befits a Tuesday puzzle, but an enjoyable solve. I shall not hazard a guess as to who our setter is today as Tuesdays are not familiar territory for me. Those who enjoy a double definition are in for a treat, as there are no fewer than four in today’s puzzle.  No particular favourite clue for me, but I did enjoy the Quickie Pun.

This is my 100th blog, having just been pipped at the post by Huntsman, who posted his 100th blog last week.  I would like to thank Gazza for asking me to join the select band of bloggers a couple of years ago.  I feel honoured to play a small part in this wonderful forum.
