Fewer anagrams today than usual, but still another classic piece of work from the Monday Maestro. Enjoy.

The usual stuff from the Monday maestro. 13d had me thinking for a while, is 4d cryptic? Otherwise an enjoyable crossword.

First of all I would like to thank Gazza for stepping in at short notice last week, it was much appreciated. Crisis is now over and I can return to blogging the Monday crossword. I found this easier than normal and all seemed to fall into place quite quickly. Still good fun though.

Libellule is up to his eyes in work this morning, sorting out a problem for one of his customers, so I’m sitting in for him (as all the best radio jocks say!) and he’ll reciprocate tomorrow.
I thought that this puzzle was towards the harder end of Rufus’s range. There are loads of cryptic clues and it’s very entertaining. A comment with your views would be welcome.

Usual Monday morning magic. Liked 7d and 13d a lot – not too sure about 23a though.

We have had a bright and sunny weekend here in the Touraine, so lots of gardening chores have been done. The weather is still bright and sunny today, although cold. As for the crossword – it presented no major problems today, all in all – simply a pleasant solve.

Its bright and sunny here in the Touraine, so I was up nice and early to do the crossword and blog. I rapidly managed to fill the grid, only to leave a small hole in the top right hand corner. The answers to most of these clues also went in pretty quickly, except 9a, after some head scratching I reached for the dictionary. Thats a definition of form, that I was not aware of. Otherwise I enjoyed what is a typical Rufus crossword.

For those who struggled last week, I think you will find today’s crossword nice and straightforward (somewhere between one or two stars for difficulty I think). We have the usual mixture of anagrams, double definitions, cryptic definitions etc with smooth surface readings. Classic Rufus!
