This is not one of Rufus’ best crosswords…
I also see that the Telegraph puzzles site continues to be a problem. If you are having trouble accessing it try a little later, and keep trying – eventually you should be able to log on.

About on a par with last Monday’s I think, a bit more difficult than usual. I am sure 11a is the most complicated clue I have seen from Rufus for some time, and we also have the return of a couple of old chestnuts.
On another note the Telegraph puzzles site seems to be suffering at the moment. It seems slow to respond, and then when I tried to submit today’s puzzle it took fifteen minutes and a large number of Error 0’s.

Standard Monday fare from Rufus, although I think this one is a bit tougher than normal, 23d is my favourite clue and definite “doh” moment.

Maybe it was just me, but this felt a bit formulaic today. especially 20d and 22d and some of the other clues seem a bit weak e.g. 6d and 14d. But as always there are some better clues to lift it, my favourite of the day 27a.

Not an overly complicated crossword today, although I haven’t seen the phrase at 8d since I was in the Navy CCF at school and I don’t think 5d works very well. Otherwise as entertaining as ever. Favourite clue 22a.

For some reason I made hard going of this, putting in “IN HAND” at 2d and then getting obsessed with the final word of 13a being BOOK didn’t help. As such this crossword gets three stars for difficulty today, although everybody else probably thought this was a doddle.

A little trickier than normal? How many of you waited for checking letters to be sure of some of the answers? Otherwise it’s the usual stuff from the Monday Maestro.

I thought this was straight forward stuff from Rufus today, but not quite up to his usual high standard. Some of the clues today seemed to be struggling to be cryptic. Overall, it was still a pleasant solve though.

I hope everybody is enjoying their bank holiday in the UK, no such luck in France. If a holiday falls on a weekend then we lose it. A typical Rufus crossword today, with a high anagram content. Of all clues, I think I liked 17a the most.
