Morning all and welcome to a non-RayThursday.  The weather here continues to be stonking hot and it seems to have fried what’s left of my brain because I had a bit of a struggle getting into this one.  However, it all came together eventually after just creeping into *** time.  It will be interesting to see how many of you thought it was a doddle.

Morning all and welcome to another RayThursday.  It was a game of two halves for me.  I went through the across clues and only got four of them so I thought I might be in for a fair old struggle.  Then I went through the downs and got all but three so with all those checkers in place the puzzle just sort of rolled over and wanted its tummy tickled.  It was a bit of fun while it lasted but I’m sure some of you will have had a different experience. Hello from a rather warm Los Alcázares.  Actually I say it’s rather warm, which it is, but the UK seems to have been a degree or two hotter than here for the last few days. The difference is that here we have another twelve weeks of the hot stuff to look forward to.

This puzzle is definitely one from the “new” Giovanni as there are no obscurities and little or no religious references. It’s a pangram but I didn’t notice until I’d completed the puzzle so it didn’t help me in the slightest.  I enjoyed it a lot.  It’s got a few tricky bits but it fell together reasonably well so I’ve gone for two star difficulty. I’m sure some of you will disagree.

Hola from a warm and sunny Los Alcazáres and welcome to what I’m pretty sure is a RayThursday.  All the signs are there, short clues, initial letters clue, a lurker, a reversed lurker, stretched synonyms and Her Majesty making an appearance but somehow it seemed to lack the usual sparkle so perhaps it’s merely an imitation.  I thought it was a little on the tricky side but that might just be me suffering from last night’s curry and red wine.

Hi everyone.  As Deep Threat is on hols you’ll just have to put up with me doing a bit of deputising.  I have blogged on Friday before but as far as I can see the last one was 27th December 2013 so it’s a fair while since the Don and I locked horns.  This was a pretty fine puzzle with no real obscurities and no religious bits so not one to overtax the little grey cells. I enjoyed it and will be interested to hear your views.

Good morning and welcome to what I’m pretty sure is a RayThursday.  I thought there was some fairly tricksy stuff in this and it just crept into 3* time.  However, there are enough anagrams and a few gimmes to get you started so I think you’ll be OK.  Enjoyable stuff anyway but I bet the usual suspects will complain and the other usual suspects will think it great. You can’t win at this game!

Hola from the Vega Baja on a cloudy but warm morning.  This one doesn’t feel to me like a RayT production but all bar one of the clues fit his word count limit, Her Majesty makes an appearance and there’s a reversed lurker so you never know.  Whoever the setter is he or she has given us an enjoyable puzzle which won’t frighten too many of the horses and will raise a smile or two.  If you like double definitions you’ll be happy because there’s five by my count.

Hola from the Vega Baja on a bright sunny morning.  I’ll stake my non-existent reputation as a setter spotter on this puzzle having nothing at all to do with RayT, even though it is his turn this week.  Some parts of the puzzle are quite good but for me it’s slightly spoiled by too many uses of very similar or even identical elements of wordplay, on two occasions in consecutive clues. I’ll interested to hear your opinions.

Morning all and welcome to another RayThursday.  Maybe it’s just me having an off day but I found this a bit trickier than recent RayT puzzles have been. Enjoyable all the same with all the usual hallmarks of a RayT offering. I’ll be interested to see what you guys think of it.
