For reasons beyond my comprehension this website has been under attack over the last few weeks – code was inserted to redirect users to advertising on three separate occasions, twice code was inserted to send out spam emails (but not to those who subscribe to the blog), and a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack was launched against it. I changed the passwords several times, and now everything seems to be back in order with the exception of warnings being issued by Google etc. – they are quick to add a site to their list and very slow at removing it.
One of the consequences of the above was that defensive software, including a firewall, was added to the site. That should no longer be the case.
As is usual for the weekend prize crosswords, an assortment of clues, including some of the more difficult ones, have been selected and hints provided for them.
