I seem to solve Saturday puzzles differently to most commenters – last week I found the puzzle really straightforward and this week it took me much longer than usual to solve the crossword, although looking at it now, I have no idea why.

As for who set it – I’m going to go for a Saturday Mysteron, based on,  amongst other things,   noticing that there are only two anagrams (and Cephas usually gives us more) and seven double-definitions which doesn’t seem very Cephas-like either.

Another nice Sunday puzzle, this one with a couple of military references as befits a puzzle published on  Remembrance Sunday.

Greetings from a cold and chilly Ottawa where the ground is covered with a few inches of snow. It’s hard to believe that only five days ago I was on the golf course.

This is a DNRT (definitely not Ray T) day. I thought that it was a rather enjoyable exercise today that crept into the lower end of the *** difficulty range.

This one from Giovanni was not too tricky apart from one unknown (to me) word at 18d, which was difficult to solve without a bit of trial and error. At one stage I thought we were getting a theme based on songs about young ladies but two isn’t really a theme – although I did end up humming the tunes all morning.

Today’s offering is characterised by three things – the grid has four pretty distinct puzzles, there are quite a few anagrams (nine by my count) and there are lots of cryptic definitions (several of them rather weak, in my opinion). Do let us know what you thought of it and how you got on.

A mixed bag from Rufus today with nothing too strenuous. We do have rather a lot of strong alcoholic spirits but we can temper the effects of such with the water and food Rufus has kindly provided at 27 and 15 across.
