I had no problem at all with the top half. The bottom half required a little more thought. Filling in the grid proved not to be too difficult but I had problems untangling some of the wordplay.

Was this a puzzle put in the wrong envelope? I found it a tad more difficult than the usual back-page (or is it inside back-page?) puzzle.

As Heno said, a Virgilius puzzle always puts you in a good mood and this one was no exception. All the usual trademark clues were there although it was probably a good job that Mary was on her holidays so that she couldn’t be offended by 27a :)
