Morning All! When gazza heard I was at a loose end this morning he offered me the blog-seat so you have me. I solved this at 1 this morning after a late shift and thought it was in the **** territory for difficulty. Having reviewed it this morning and spoken to Crypticsue there isn’t much to change my mind.

For some strange reason, I really struggled with some sections of this, but when I wrote the blog I couldn’t see why. On reflection it seems to be a fairly typical Rufus offering. Perhaps the cause of the problem is down to the awful grid?

It’s not too late to enter this month’s prize puzzle!
Greetings from the Calder Valley! New PC configured and all up and running, though I am going to need some more training on one or two of the bells and whistles that go with it. Big Dave is on his way to Derby for th S&B meeting and so it falls to me to guide you through a few hints on the Saturday Prize puzzle. Thought this was quite a challenge this morning with the bottom left corner providing a bit of a battle. If you are in the Derby area, do pop down and say hello to the gang, they’ll make you extremely welcome and you will get to meet some of your favourite (and not-so-favourite) setters!
As is usual for the weekend prize crosswords, an assortment of clues, including some of the more difficult ones, have been selected and hints provided for them.

Tilsit has taken delivery of a new computer today, and he is still trying to find out how it works!
Certainly not the lite version to which we have become accustomed, this is a superb puzzle full of Homer Simpson moments, and well worthy of the highly-prized Friday slot.

After yesterday’s debate about the identity of the setter we can be pretty certain that this is by Giovanni. Normally I’d complain about the number of anagrams but some of them are so good, especially the wonderful 18a which must be a strong candidate for clue of the month, that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Let us know what you thought.
If you want to reveal an answer just highlight the gap between the brackets under the clue.

Morning All! – Not my favourite Saturday puzzle of recent times as I felt it didn’t really sparkle for me. There was nothing too tricky about it and many clues went in without too much thought.

Bufo is away today, but both of us will be in Derby on Saturday, so why not come along as well.
This was a fairly typical Osmosis puzzle, not too easy and not too difficult.

A cryptic crossword doesn’t have to be difficult to be wonderfully enjoyable as is proved by this Sunday puzzle which was my puzzle of the week some 11 days ago. My top top favourites have to be 15a and 21d.
