Crossword Who’s Who
+ – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – +
Michael Curl, a setter on a setter for The Times, The Guardian and the Financial Times, has just added an excellent Who’s Who of Crosswordland to his “Best for Puzzles” site. This is the most comprehensive and up-to-date list that I have seen, and I’ve learned a few things myself. I particularly liked the link to an interview with Lorna McKie, wife of John “Myops” McKie.
As well as a comprehensive list of setters on all the main newspapers, he has seen fit to include yours truly, Peter Biddlecombe and Dave “Tilsit” Tilley.
Excellent – From old “moneybags” Dawes to Big Dave himself (of legend). An excellent browse.
Very interesting. Having solved today’s puzzle in the Telegraph, the Guardian, and the FT (by Dante), I learn that all 3 puzzles are by the same setter.
A very informative site, especially the insights into non-crossword activities of the crossword people. Interesting to know that many setters have a mathematical/musical inclination.
Enjoyed watching Dave Tilley’s Mastermind video.
You’ve made it here at last Shuchi!
Welcome
Ha ha. Thank you Big Dave.
