I’m not sure whether this is by Shamus. I think that it’s his turn this week and although this one is not a pangram, the Quickie is. If it is a Shamus puzzle then it’s one of the easiest ones he’s given us and an ideal puzzle for someone starting out on cryptics, with an entertaining mixture of clues. Let us know how you got on in a comment.
If you need to see an answer just highlight the space between the brackets under the relevant clue.

Fewer anagrams today than usual, but still another classic piece of work from the Monday Maestro. Enjoy.

Tilsit is busy acting as the family chauffeur, so I’m filling in again. Osmosis usually gives the grey cells a good workout, and today is no exception. There is a mini-theme of actors and films from fifty years ago.

I found this one quite hard to get into and wasn’t sure what I thought about it when I had finished, mainly because I spent so long trying to ‘get’ 12a. A closer examination for review purposes has made me realise that it contained an entertaining mix of different types of cryptic clue, so thanks are due once again to Cephas for a nice Saturday puzzle.

A typical puzzle from Kcit, perfectly fair and nothing very obscure.

If you can get the three long anagrams early then this puzzle is not too difficult though I had a few niggles and queries with some of the clues. Let us know what you thought in a comment and please remember to indicate your enjoyment by clicking on one of the stars below.
