The Saturday Mysteron’s turn to entertain us this week and he didn’t disappoint.   A very entertaining mix of clues, complete with a nice example of relevant  back page product placement for those of us who still solve using the newspaper version.  Favourites are, as usual, marked in blue.

I was surprised in the middle of the morning to receive an email from BD about today’s puzzle. It hadn’t occurred to me that it was Thursday today and hence my Toughie day. Obviously my ongoing programme of sacrificing goats is working because once again Wednesday has served up a superb puzzle by the great Micawber. It took me some time to get going but I later speeded up and was, as usual, disappointed when it was all over because I was enjoying it so much.
Please let us know how you got on and take the time to click on one of the stars below to record your enjoyment factor.

Hello from the Vega Baja where it is raining cats and dogs with some spectacular thunder and lightning and my garage roof has started leaking again!

I think this one is a little trickier than recent Wednesdays so I’ve gone for 3* difficulty. I’m sure that some of you will disagree but I think you will agree it’s quite a fun puzzle.

I tend to run out of superlatives when reviewing a Notabilis puzzle. This one hits exactly the right mark for the Toughie genre … and there’s a Nina running along the long diagonals to boot!

One of the many ways my crosswording  life improved after I ‘found’ Big Dave and his blog was that I became a regular solver and then a  fortnightly  reviewer of the Sunday puzzle.    This week’s offering was another candidate for best puzzle of the week, containing the excellent clueing, trademark hidden words and a few d’oh moments too.  My top favourites are marked in blue.
