I found this one slightly trickier than those of recent days and it was slow-going to start with, but I was able to proceed steadily once I had got the long clues, and I learnt a new word on the way. Several of the clues appear at first sight to be more complicated than they actually are, and the whole thing is enjoyable.

An average Toughie with a few well-constructed clues. It certainly helps if you can get 16a early on.

After last Friday’s struggle, I found this one to be much easier. As always when a puzzle contains four long answers, getting at least two of these early on is the key to success.

Apr 5 – The Codewords No 1267 has now been changed, with a totally different set of numbers, but still no GK Quick No 89!
We managed to get through last weekend without an edition of ScrewedUp News, but not so this weekend!!
