A mixed bag from Rufus today with nothing too strenuous. We do have rather a lot of strong alcoholic spirits but we can temper the effects of such with the water and food Rufus has kindly provided at 27 and 15 across.

Good morning everyone. It’s a real November morning in Oxford – mild, misty and damp but a Ray T crossword will soon cheer things up and I have almost no doubt that this is one of his. I thought it was very much on the gentle side for him but I’m sure that some of you will disagree. He seems to have lost his naughty hat as there’s not much innuendo this time.

We had a great time at Wairakei Resort last weekend. The weather was outstandingly perfect so we were able to do all the things we had planned. Hot-pool bathing, walking, seeing the sights including the magnificent Huka Falls, 9 holes of golf, eating far too much and hanging out with family. What more could we ask for?

I thought this a little bland until I started to parse the clues and realised just how many clever clues and misdirections there are. I have waited a while for the chance to include the video clip at 10 across and the reference to Alice gave me the opportunity. Thank you Rufus for that. As we have a few musical references in the puzzle today I have gone with a musical theme to the blog. I hope you like it.
