I think Prolixic is gradually increasing his toughness level – whilst retaining the high enjoyment factor – so a big thank you to him for providing me (and you) with another very enjoyable Saturday lunchtime diversion.

What a difference a few days make. After finishing this Elgar puzzle I felt as if I’d been mugged by Vlad the Impaler. I didn’t think it was one of his best, but it was still better than most Toughies.
Tilsit was called away to help a friend, leaving me to explain this one!

Morning All! My poor work and beer befuddled brain on Saturday morning made this a shade harder than it should have been – in fact I set it aside in favour of a glass of Alka-Seltzer before our second round of golf in Wales that weekend. Having come back to it Wednesday evening I found it much more straightforward and very enjoyable.

Many thanks to Tilsit for standing in for me last week while I was away. I got back yesterday after a week without my daily crossword fix. However, this turned out to be a nice gentle puzzle which was just right for getting the brain back in gear.
