We have a very entertaining puzzle from Ray T today, which I thought was a bit more difficult than usual. Let us know whether you agree or not with a comment!
As always the answers are concealed, so that you cannot see them accidentally. If you want to reveal one, place your cursor inside the curly brackets under the relevant clue and drag it across the white space to the other bracket.

We have a pleasant and not too taxing puzzle today, with a few smiles along the way. Based on the pattern over the past few months it’s probably by Shamus (but that’s just my supposition).
We depend on your comments to continue to make this site the lively forum for discussion that it’s become – I know that I can rely on you not to disappoint!
The answers, should you need to see them, are hidden between the curly brackets beneath the relevant clues – just drag your cursor through the white space between the brackets to reveal.

We have a Ray T puzzle today with some entertaining clues and one good belly laugh. As usual with Ray’s puzzles, the difficulties are not so much with the wordplay as in working out the relationship between the definition and the answer, and in a couple of clues today I thought that the elastic between the two was stretched a bit far. Do you agree or not? – in either case we’d love to get your comments.
For new readers, the answer to each clue is hidden between the curly brackets – just drag your cursor through the white space between the brackets to reveal it.

We have a good work-out today (or perhaps it’s just that my brain is getting sluggish in the Arctic winter that we’re having!). As I write I see that Clued Up is showing five stars for difficulty for this one – I wouldn’t go that far, but I think that it is a bit trickier than we’re used to on a Tuesday.
We love to get your comments, so especially if you’ve never left one before, now is the time to introduce yourself – we promise not to bite!
For new readers, the answer for each clue is hidden between the curly brackets beneath the relevant clue – just drag your cursor through the white space between the brackets if you want to see it.

It’s snowing quite heavily here now, so it’s very pleasant to sit in the warm drinking a cup of coffee and writing this review, whilst stealing a glance at the Christmas card scene outside.
The puzzle has all the hallmarks of a Ray T composition – tight surface readings, a few smiles and one belly laugh. I think that it’s slightly easier than his usual offerings, so I’ve given it only two stars for difficulty – of course you may disagree, and if you do (or even if you don’t) we’d love to get a comment from you.
(Regular readers will get fed up with reading this bit, but please remember that we have new readers joining us all the time.) The answers are hidden inside the curly brackets – just highlight the white space inside the brackets to reveal.

It looks like we can look forward to a week of very gentle puzzles, if the pattern for yesterday and today is continued. Perhaps this is to be Clueless Club week!!

Gazza’s new broadband connection has broken, so I am filling in for him today (and Tilsit is doing battle with the Toughie).  [15:30 – Gazza is now back online, and all set to tackle tomorrow’s Toughie.]

Leave a comment telling us what you thought. You can also add your assessment by selecting from one to five stars at the bottom of the post.

It’s Ray T’s turn this week and we have a typically entertaining puzzle, although I felt that a couple of the cryptic definitions were a bit weak, and I do have a gripe with 12a.

As always the answers are hidden inside the curly brackets under each clue – just select the white space inside the brackets to reveal.

Since this is my last Cryptic review before the big day (although for Toughie addicts, I will be back tomorrow), may I take this opportunity to wish everyone a Very Happy Christmas.

If the recent Tuesday pattern is being maintained then this will be a Shamus puzzle, although I’ve no means of verifying that. We have a reasonable challenge today (though the number of place names may annoy some people), but I have a couple of quibbles.
Please leave a comment with your views or queries – let’s see if we can get a lively debate going!
As usual the answers are hidden inside the curly brackets. Just highlight the white space inside the brackets to reveal.

It’s Ray T’s turn this Tuesday and we have a typical puzzle from him, but with perhaps more cryptic definitions than usual. I didn’t think that it was too difficult, though I did initially write in Footsie for 7d.

Let us know your opinion of the puzzle, and please take the time to cast a vote by clicking on one of the stars under the review.

As usual the answers, should you need them, are hidden inside the curly brackets. Just highlight the white space inside the brackets to reveal them.

I’ll be very interested to hear your views on this puzzle. While I was solving it I had the impression that it was quite difficult, but later, writing the review, I can’t really see why I thought that.

All comments are welcome, especially from those readers who have yet to introduce themselves.

The answers are hidden between the curly brackets, to prevent your seeing them unless you want to. To reveal them just highlight the white space between the brackets.
