Libellule is on holiday this week – he did the Wednesday review instead. I can see why he likes these Friday puzzles. This one is on the easy side, but at the same time a pleasure to complete. A couple of the down clues may be a bit of a problem, but the rest is very straightforward.

Another enjoyable Friday crossword, a good mix of clue types, and complexity along with one new word for me.

Libellule is back in his usual Friday slot (last Friday he preferred to go and see France play Wales in Paris). BD
The rugby was excellent. Although a Friday night kick-off at 9.00pm was a little strange. Libellule

Today’s puzzle was a bit harder than usual, and I struggled with some of the wordplay. In yesterday’s Toughie I tried out a new idea for giving the answers without spoiling the rest of the crossword, and I have tried it here today. Essentially, the answers are between curly brackets in white type – selecting them with the mouse will reveal the answer. Please let me know if you like it.

This is a review of the puzzle as published in the newspaper and now available online – the one that was originally published online turned out to be the Saturday Prize crossword!. Neither puzzle was anything special – nothing particularly good or annoyingly bad. For a real puzzle, see today’s Toughie No 99.

This is the first contribution from Libellule, so I hope you all enjoy it – I certainly did. Once again, the highlighted items link to supplementary information, often the answer to the clue. Don’t forget to let both of us know, via the comments below, what you think. BD
