This seems to be a lot more straight forward than Friday’s, so I don’t expect much use of the hints today.

First of all I would like to thank everybody for their birthday wishes last Saturday as I hit my 50th. Then secondly I would like to thank Gazza for stepping into the Monday spot at short notice (I had a sick cat to pick up from the vets). That left me with the opportunity of blogging a Friday Giovanni. I don’t know about the rest of you but this seemed to be a tough one and took longer than normal. Just in case you missed it, it is also a pangram.

Another typically enjoyable Rufus crossword to start the week. Got a bit stuck on 8d (don’t ask why) when I thought the answer was “in ones power”.

Maybe its because its a Bank Holiday Monday in France too, but I enjoyed this offering from Rufus today. Happy Easter all!

Another lovely day here today, although we have a cold north wind. Today we have a normal enjoyable Monday crossword from Rufus.

Lovely weather here in the Loire at the moment, and an equally pleasant crossword to start the week.

Once again I seem to have struggled more than I should have done. My excuse is the builders turned up to finish off a wall in the garden while I was halfway through the crossword, and that completely put me off my stride.

An entertaining crossword (as usual) from Rufus this morning. Perhaps a little trickier than normal with some of the clues 7d,8d,13d requiring a bit more lateral thinking.

Normal service has been resumed. Mrs. L. is well on the mend, so many thanks for all of your kind comments. I struggled a bit with a few of the clues, although I suspect a certain rustiness on my part. I finally decided to give this three stars for difficulty mainly because although its easy to guess the answer to 5d, I had no idea why the answer was what it was until Gazza enlightened me.

Personally I thought this was a bit trickier than usual for a Monday morning, but thats probably me having a bad day. However it was still fun, especially 23a and 14d for example.
