As usual a dream of a puzzle from Rufus. Not too taxing but a couple of smart twist to tease and delight.

Thankfully today, pussycat Rufus turned up and gave a breeze of a puzzle. 22d is a corker of a clue. What do you think?

I raced through this but came to a crashing halt with three to go and needed Big Dave’s help. Piggies and grandchild for those who are interested.

At four am with a thick head this fine puzzle came to a complete halt halfway through hence the three star difficulty. Reviewing it at nine am, I can see no difficulty at all. Note to self – drink less on Sunday.

This caused me no problems today hence the difficulty rating. It was still very enjoyable as usual. Sharon and I would like to thank you all for your kind words and thoughts last week.

A gentle start to the week and a clear blue sky here in Downtown LI. Perfectamonday methinks.

I had doubts as to the setter today as there were fewer anagrams than usual and the double definitions seemed to be low in number. They were there as usual but cleverly hidden. I am sure it is Rufus though. Piggy Pics as promised.

Well done England! I plodded through this crossword at 5.30am accompanied by a marvellous dawn chorus. As usual a pleasant start to the week. I am going to The Cheltenham Festival tomorrow full of good intent which will last up until breakfast at 10.00am when the inevitable cry of “Twelve pints of bitter and three bottles of Champagne please” will be uttered. I fear the worst.

Rufus has his benign hat on today. He took us to watch the world’s most boring sport but kindly allowed us to bring along a great novel and some fine poetry. He did let himself down by not providing any food but redeemed himself by bringing beer. I have a pig.

I thoroughly enjoyed this puzzle which I found complicatedly simple. 20 down is a superb clue. Thanks to Rufus for giving so many opportunities to insert relevant photos. Apologies to all for the indulgence.
