In my comment on last week’s I asked if anyone else had spotted the possibly unintentional link between 25a & 29a and dropping a hint.
‘Pygmalion’ is the GBS play on which the musical and film ‘My Fair Lady’ were based. The title is a pun on the way cockney flowergirl Eliza Doolittle might say ‘Mayfair lady’.
Just doing this puzzle today as I always wait for the answers before attempting it-just in case I need them! This puzzle expanded my GK on lassos, Mexican cities, aerials and, in particular the GBS play and film derivation. Thanks Cryptic Sue for the mythology explanation and thanks Greygray for the film fun fact-I will be entertaining others with both!
