I returned from a super day at the beach, having solved this crossword there in a tiny bit more than my normal ‘straightforward puzzle’ time, whilst having a conversation with one of my nieces as to why she should add Sicily to her list of places to visit one day, and was very surprised to find that the majority of commenters found this particular Saturday puzzle difficult.

I’m standing in for Gnomey who is “doing his bit for the Greek economy”, although possibly not getting quite as much sun as he hoped – he was having to shelter his beer from the rain in the last post I saw. This is the first blog we have done since having Windows 10 installed on our computer so hope that it all behaves itself. The installation process supplied all sorts of dramas over the weekend. Eventually the matter was sorted out for us by a retired IT wizard who lives quite close to us and we found via a friend. Now we have gratefully added Bas to our list of respected IT wizards. The other two on the list are of course Big Dave and Gazza. Where would we mere mortals be without them!
