With the exception of the obscure (to me) Korean port in 1 across this was a very enjoyable puzzle.

Good morning from South Staffs where the weather is a little quieter than yesterday. I hope all our readers are safe from storm and flood.
Giovanni’s trademark obscure word at 19d sent me to the BRB to checkwhat I’d got from the very fair wordplay, but the rest fell into place and I finished in ** time.

Morning All! Firstly a massive thank you to Crypticsue who kindly typed up the blog framework for me. We still don’t have access to the online puzzles and hence cannot use the Word macro to render the blog template as normal. I found this pretty straightforward apart from about 3 clues which were easy but I made heavy weather of. Lots of charades in a row (when I came to review) sort of lowered my enjoyment. That was probably just me though.

This is Sparks’s second Toughie and the first one that I’ve attempted. I made slow but steady progress until I hit a brick wall in the shape of the last clue (27 down). I have finally come up with an answer for it but I’m not convinced by it. I have assigned the stars by considering the puzzle without 27 down. If I were to include 27 down I would add a star to the difficulty and deduct a star from the enjoyment.

Morning all!. This was yet another ace Virgilius puzzle. There were a few clues that really took some teasing out (as there should be in a Prize Puzzle) but the rewards upon completion were considerable.

Bearing in mind the tortuous puzzles that Elkamere in his various guises is capable of producing, I thought that this one was definitely on the gentler side. I was helped by having lived for many years in the North-West of England so that the two towns from this area were no problem for me.
