Tilsit’s continuing sojourn in rainy Scotland gave us the chance to blog this excellent Toughie. A very nice mix of clues, including a couple of easily-gettable Scottish references as one might expect from one of Antony’s favourite setters.

Morning All!. I have decided to use the current vogue for underlining the definition. I think that this is a welcome addition for both bloggers and bloggees as it adds an immediate clarity to the hint. This was a perfectly enjoyable Saturday prize puzzle of easy/medium difficulty.

Hola from the Vega Baja, where it remains very hot and sticky. First a big thanks to Gazza for swapping days this week. I was being Mrs Mop again at our friend’s apartment yesterday and had got my dates wrong – I thought it was today! So far since I switched to the Thursday puzzle I’ve managed one out of three on the right day – I’ll be getting the sack if I don’t buck my ideas up!
Anyway, on to the puzzle. Not my favourite this week and a bit tricky. Seemed a bit of a slog and, like Dave said yesterday, I can only admit to a sense of relief when it was all over. All the clues are very fair but, for me, it somehow lacked the usual Giovanni sparkle.

I slogged my way through this and the only feeling I had when I’d finished was the relief. Crypticsue and I will be duetting tomorrow as Tilsit’s return from holiday has been delayed by illness.

Pommers has to do a bit of real work today so he and I have swapped and he’ll be here tomorrow. If I had to guess (and it is only a guess) I’d say that this puzzle is by Shamus. It’s not too difficult and has some amusing clues – let us know how you got on.
