A not too tuff tuffy from Zandio today, I have hinted half of an even 14a and 14d clues but remain on hand to provide a nudge or two for those clues that didn’t make the cut
On a couple of occasions, similar clue types follow each other (two double definitions then two &lit’s) but not often enough to suggest more than a coincidence
2d was my favourite today and gave me an opportunity for some Kitty pics, although the pic for 23d should have been focused on the chap to the right!

Robyn brings us one of his thematically linked puzzles today, solving 27a is the key to this and once I had decided if the Fed’s were singular or plural the rest flowed smoothly (as the top actor is singular and 4d refers to another singular Frenchman I went with that) but as we no longer get confirmation of correct submissions from the new site I can’t be 100% sure that I am right. The recent Zandio SEATS/SEAMS debate would suggest that the data miners (DanWord and Wordplays) are not invincible so I am going with my gut

Many thanks for the birthday wishes yesterday, we had a lovely meal at a 12a curry house
recommended by the Hairy Bikers and the absence of meat was not missed by the carnivores although my sleep was somewhat disturbed by inner rumblings and this quite testing offering from proXimal
A generous 32 clues today and I have hinted at the half I found most tricky, As I have breakfasted on Mama Bee’s leftover curry I will be on hand with some Rennies™ and extra nudges if required

I found this at the gentler end of the Zandio spectrum this week. but your experience may differ, I wouldn’t want to 7d any of you. A fine 14d variety of clue types. I hope your 5d’s are not 4d, I fairly 2d’d through this before my 21a could melt
