Greetings from Kolkata. A tough but interesting Sunday puzzle of Dada that offered a lot of enjoyment and I now have the pleasure of presenting to you once again a full review of the same and would be delighted to have your precious feedback and comments.

Yesterday, the 22nd February 2022 or 22022022, was a Happy Palindrome Day for all of us. It was also a Happy Ambigram Day since the digital numbers in the form of seven-segment display character representations as on a calculator could be read upside down in exactly the same manner. Some even fashioned 22.2.22 as Happy Happy ‘Twosday’. While the next Happy Palindrome Day will be 03022030, the last Happy Palindrome Day of this century will be on a leap day, 29022092. Greetings everyone from South Devon. Today Donnybrook, one of my favourites setters, has given us what I thought was a super puzzle (despite parts of it occupying territory that is somewhat alien to me) that certainly can’t be described as a “Floughie”. Continue reading “Toughie 2805”

Hello, everyone, and welcome to Tuesday. We have a very fine puzzle today, which I am 99% sure was created by regular Tuesday compiler X-Type. Many smiles came out of this solve. I needed the delete key a couple of times after being tempted to enter an answer that seem to fit the definition, only to find later that it didn't fit the checkers. Should have just left those slots blank when I couldn't parse them immediately.  Continue reading "DT 29917"

Hola from the Vega Baja where the noise seems to have abated at last.  I think the digging has finished and all that’s left to do is re-tarmac all the roads.  Might be back to normal in a couple of weeks.

Today we have the usual Monday fare but a little trickier than the last one I blogged.  There’s five clues involving anagrams so I know many of you will be pleased but there’s also a couple of head scratchers so it comes out as a very enjoyable solve.  I hope you all agree with me.

Sunday Toughie 4 (Hints)

Sunday Toughie No 4 by Robyn (Hints)

Hints and Tips by John Bee

Hello from deepest Yorkshire,

This is my first go at providing the hints and I have had a lot of help from many others, Senf, Gazza, Miffs and BD to name just a few. If I have made any errors they are mine alone. Halcyon’s sterling work providing hints for Fridays toughie while Dutch was otherwise engaged is a great example of what this fine blog can do. I hope this works as well as that did.
