Hola from Almoradí where the heatwave seems to be abating. It was never as bad as was reported on UK TV though. Our highest temperature was about a week ago when it got up to 38°C one afternoon but most days it’s been 35 or 36 which is a bit above normal but a far cry from the 40+ reported by Auntie Beeb! Scaremongering I reckon.
Today’s puzzle is pretty normal Monday fare in that it’s not too hard but very enjoyable. There are a couple of slightly tricky clues to keep us on our toes but there are seven clues involving anagrams so I know many of you will be pleased about that.

Hola from Almoradí where summer is continuing with temps in the low to mid-thirties every day. The trouble is that the overnight low is around 25°C so our air conditioners are getting a bit of a beating!
I thought this crossword was a little odd in that there were quite a few gimmes but then a few really tricky ones. Overall I’ve gone for *** but I’ll be interested to see what you all think about it.

Hola from Almoradí on a lovely sunny morning. The humidity seems to have dropped a bit so we are having a spell of really pleasant weather over the last few days. I don’t suppose it will last through July though.
As for today’s puzzle it’s a tad trickier than last weeks and I didn’t clean the acrosses on first pass. In fact I got just half of them! However I only missed two of the downs so it can’t have been too tricky! There’s a couple of slightly obscure terms, to me anyway, and a couple of bits of complicated wordplay but it’s all gettable from the wordplay and very enjoyable it was.

Hola from Almoradí where summer arrived with a bang about ten days ago. Hot weather, which I like, but it’s not cooling down overnight, which I don’t like. Hey ho, the joys of living in Spain.
As for the crossword I managed something I haven’t achieved for quite some time – that is to solve every one of the across clues in order! After that the downs just sort of filled themselves in. I’ll be interested to see if others found it the same.

Greetings from Ottawa, where my weekly theme song is “I Can See Clearly Now” – a welcome relief following several days when the city’s air pollution index rated our air quality among the worst in the world due to smoke drifting down from forest fires in northern Québec.… Continue reading
