Good morning from Lockdown L I. Where Saint Sharon and I are enjoying an enforced retirement with pay. Although we have nothing to do and all day to do it, it is surprising just what can be achieved with a little effort here and there. The interior of our house in Leicestershire (It’s not Warwickshire Sharon) is nearly finished so I have begun an ambitious landscaping project in the garden. That should be fun with my knees. At least I have plenty of alcohol to see me through. Continue reading “DT 29357”

Today we have a superbly accessible but just tough enough Toughie from Chalicea. There is a lot of fun to be had here but the number of reversals in this puzzle have left Queequeg feeling quite queasy.  Continue reading “Toughie 2426”

Today we have a very depressing black grid. There are 88 black squares out of 225. That is forty per cent of the available space not being used. This means we only have 26 clues to solve. These grids always disappoint me. Continue reading “DT 29345”

Good morning from the slowly beating heart of Downtown L I. If this is the most happening place in the village I dread to think how dull the outskirts and suburbs must be. Continue reading “Toughie 2418”

Good morning from Green Man Towers. Life on lockdown is quite the ticket. Village life goes on at a distance. Mrs Owen has too many tomato plants. Help yourselves from the wall outside her house. If you want eggs, we will leave them on the bench at the front of the pub. It is still eerily quiet which I like. I don’t miss the aeroplanes flying into Birmingham, but I do miss the grandchildren who are doing their best but are suffering from cabin fever. Their parents are also doing their best to stay safe and to amuse and educate in difficult circumstances. Ah well. Troubled times. Continue reading “DT 29333”

Good Morning. The sun is shining here in Downtown L I. It is still deathly silent so we can hear the mice in the attic going about their business (Not for much longer they won’t be) Our twelve rehomed hens are becoming more normal as each day passes. When we first released them into their five-star luxury coop they stood stock still not knowing how to be chickens. What a difference freedom makes. What a friendly bunch they are. Good morning from the ghostly quiet of lockdown L I. Where not a creature is stirring as I write. No schoolchildren, no walkers, no horse riders, nobody fetching the daily paper. It’s blissfully quiet. Long may it continue. Continue reading “DT 29321”
