Another great Sunday crossword with lots of excellent clues. A Virgilius clue might take a while for the penny to drop when solving, but I m sure Gnomey will agree with me that they are some of the easiest to explain when writing a review. My top favourite clues are marked in blue.

I don’t think I can improve on my comment on the day “Don’t think I have seen so many chestnuts grouped together for a very long time which made solving this puzzle a very straightforward experience”.

A slightly trickier Saturday offering made slightly more tricky for me by my blind spot with 14d.

Virgilius brought this fine crossword to start the morning of Sunday 3 February – there were quite a few anagrams in this puzzle but not a single trademark hidden word at all.
