I've been off the DT for a while actually from around the time I learned that BD was not well. I've just made up with the Telegraph bunch only to learn, sadly of his passing. We had exchanged mail. I too am a '44 and we clicked (briefly). Although I had found worthy cryptics free of charge I have to admit none had the pleasure of referring to this website for help. Best wishes to all concerned in the production and good luck to solvers
