I don’t know the name of the setter today, but he or she has given us an entertaining puzzle which is not too difficult (although the 17a term was new to me) with a fair number of clues relating to alcohol. Let us know what you thought of it in a comment.
If you need to see an answer just drag your cursor through the white space between the curly brackets under the relevant clue.

Slightly trickier than normal? It seemed so, as I got stuck on a couple of clues for longer than I should have done. Still a fun crossword though. Favourite clues 13a (it reminds me of a sketch from the Fast Show) and 26a,
If you need to reveal the answer, just highlight the space between the curly brackets.

Morning All! We had a couple of troublesome clues in this puzzle from (I think) Cephas. In the end there was nothing to stop one completing but it did increase the solving time a tad.

Afternoon All!. As usual around Christmas time we get puzzles with many festive references and this one is chock full of them. Many of the clues contain the word Christmas and many of the answers are Christmas related. I found it good fun to solve and not too taxing – just what you need on a busy day. I’m pretty sure that this is a Ray T puzzle. The Quick crossword has all his idiosyncrasies, including a homophone in the first two across clues that you have to repeat over and over again before the penny drops.

This is the Christmas Eve puzzle from Rufus. He gave us a cracker with a seasonal theme and plenty of pies. If you have a feeling of deja vu about the review you’re right – this is pretty much what I published on Christmas Eve morning before I realised that it was a prize puzzle.

Welcome to the first Monday of 2011. Rufus has returned, and we have an enjoyable, but not overly taxing solve today. Some of you may need some help for some of the cryptic definitions – but I doubt it.
If my cryptic hints are not good enough to let you work out the answer, just highlight the space between the curly brackets.
