Morning All! This is the review of last Saturday’s Prize Puzzle. I really found this too straightforward to be a real challenge and reviewing found an awful lot of charades and anagrams of a very similar form. A couple of nice cryptic definitions though.

Cast your minds back to last year and the time just before the Christmas Festivities started and you might just remember that  the  Weekend Mysteron provided us with this  very average and straightforward  puzzle on the Saturday before Christmas.   Perhaps he thought we needed extra time to fight our way round the supermarkets and wouldn’t have much time to ponder over crossword clues.

Greetings from a very frigid Ottawa where the temperature is currently -23°C. With this being my regular turn in the blogger’s chair, the schedule has proven to be very fortuitous since – as we recently learned – Pommers is currently recuperating from a rather nasty bit of illness. I am sure he has taken heart from the outpouring of good wishes that have been directed his way. Hopefully, he will soon be well enough to flirt with those pretty Spanish nurses – when Pommette isn’t looking, of course.

Paul is my favourite Guardian setter and he’s never less than entertaining but in his Dada guise it seems at times as though he’s working in a straitjacket. I did enjoy this puzzle but I don’t really class it as a Toughie and it could have appeared on the back page.
