Well done England! I plodded through this crossword at 5.30am accompanied by a marvellous dawn chorus. As usual a pleasant start to the week. I am going to The Cheltenham Festival tomorrow full of good intent which will last up until breakfast at 10.00am when the inevitable cry of “Twelve pints of bitter and three bottles of Champagne please” will be uttered. I fear the worst.

Good morning from South Staffs, where it’s brightening up after a wet and windy start to the day.
A relatively gentle puzzle from Giovanni this morning, comfortably in ** territory for me, but with the Don’s usual trademark less common words and a religious reference.

Morning All! This was a puzzle that looked tricky from a first glance for me but soon resolved itself successfully. A couple of unfamiliar words didn’t help me but that is my fault and not the fault of the setter!.

A surprisingly gentle puzzle from Ray T. 17 down is easily my favourite clue, even though similar wordplay has been previously used.

The northeast corner took a bit of time to crack, so I’d rate this slightly more than 2* for difficulty and 3* for enjoyment. Thanks to Jay.

Having got the first four letters on the top line I thought that we were going to get a Nina connected with what today is in the Church and culinary calendars, but it petered out leaving us with a pleasant but not overly-taxing puzzle. Do let us know what you made of it.

Rufus has his benign hat on today. He took us to watch the world’s most boring sport but kindly allowed us to bring along a great novel and some fine poetry. He did let himself down by not providing any food but redeemed himself by bringing beer. I have a pig.

Good morning from South Staffs on a grey drizzly morning, with a possibility of snow later if last night’s forecast is right.
A pangram from Giovanni this week, which I found testing but not as difficult as yesterday’s, though if I added in the time it took to parse 18d it would probably have gone into **** territory.

Morning All! I’m pretty sure that this is a Cephas production – some good anagram indicators to help with the surface readings and a couple of cryptic definitions that always make you smile (sometimes easy sometimes not!). Overall a quick but fun solve.
