Hola from the Vega Baja where the heatwave is over and the weather has finally turned autumnal.  I was going to give this puzzle only 3* for enjoyment but it grew on me while writing the review.

Today I am pleased to welcome the latest recruits to our blogging team, a delightful couple from New Zealand who call themselves the Two Kiwis.  As they need no further introduction, I’ll hand over to them.  BD

Kia ora. Kiwis are normally shy creatures who spend most of the day asleep and come out only at night, but we have emerged, blinking into the light to bring you our very first review of a Wednesday puzzle. It has taken much beak scratching.

We have been solving and enjoying Jay’s puzzles for several years now and regard them as a consistent yardstick for Telegraph Cryptic Crosswords. Jay, we feel honoured to be blogging your puzzles.

Far too easy today, even for a Monday. There are two very weak anagrams and too many clues that can be answered from general knowledge. No stand out clues for me today.

Good morning from South Staffs in the still United Kingdom on a dull, grey morning.

I fairly rattled through today’s Giovanni, only coming into ** territory because I had one letter wrong in 16d and had to go back to correct it. But then I knew the French word which makes up part of 25a and the vessel in 4d.

Morning All! A bit of a curate’s egg for me. A couple of excellent clues and a couple that I did not care for. Also a couple that made me think and laugh.

Greetings from Ottawa, where the weather has taken a decidedly autumn-like turn. I expect to awake to find that we have received our first frost of the season tonight. On more important matters, I am sure that eyes everywhere today will be focused on the results from north of the border.

I found today’s puzzle from RayT to be quite a challenge. After solving about a quarter of the clues, I began to hear the clock ticking louder and louder. I decided at that point to call my electronic assistants into action to ensure that I would have a review to post today. Even with their help, some of the clues proved quite tricky. In hindsight, I can see that it should have been a very enjoyable puzzle — and have rated it accordingly. Unfortunately, my actual enjoyment level was somewhat dampened by the blogging deadline looming over me.

Although this was very much a write-in for me it was still very enjoyable, albeit 1 across is a very old chestnut!

It’s another glorious day in North Devon and once more on Tuesday we have a perfectly adequate puzzle but not much in the way of smiles or penny-drop moments. Do let us know what you thought of it and how you got on.

Nudging slightly into 3 star difficulty due to being successfully misdirected at 2d and 16d and having to use pen and paper for the anagram at 14d (cheating in my opinion and very rarely done). We have made it into The Camra Good Beer Guide yet again and Saint Sharon is taking me away to Shropshire for a three day break starting tomorrow. Life gets better as the years roll by.
