The perimeter and NW-SE diagonal contain the postal address for EV entries.
A few years ago, I compiled a puzzle on the same theme. I didn’t submit it straight away as I had other puzzles in the pipeline. Then the address for postal entries changed, so the puzzle was sent to the recycling bin rather than the Telegraph. Some time later I compiled this puzzle only for postal entries to be suspended due to Covid. So, it’s been a relief to finally see it published; I hope at least some solvers found it enjoyable.

As a longstanding setter you’ve probably had the disheartening experience of finding that someone’s preempted a theme you were working on, and so having to abandon or at least postpone. To find two new reasons for doing so is pretty impressive! More seriously, it’s good to see that this fine puzzle made it into print. I especially enjoyed trying to convince myself that the SE corner couldn’t contain an error, and resolving the apparent problem with the digits.
