Morning all

This blog comes to you courtesy of TransPennine Express as we hurtle over to the Elgar Birthday Bash in York, where many of the great and good (and a few not-so-good!) will be meeting to celebrate the birthday of the Tormentor known as Elgar, Nimrod and Enigmatist, or John to his friends.  Incidentally, if you are a masochist for his puzzles, he is on duty today in the i Paper on the IQ slot, following yesterday’s mayhem in the Toughie. This went in fairly easily though it did take me some time to think of the second word of 18 across which I needed before I could do 14 down. Continue reading “Toughie 2321”

Morning All! I’m not sure on the solving time for this as I had an evening with the Legend that is Alice Cooper on Thursday, day off on Friday (obvs!) and then golf and a Beer Festival in Eastbourne on Sturday evening. All seems pretty straightforward during the review, but I thought that there were some lovely, simple clues that told a great story!

Kia ora from Aotearoa.

This coming weekend we have Labour Day, what many of you would call a ‘Bank Holiday’. We are having an invasion of all the close family who are in NZ at present so we can celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Cake making and other preparations are underway.

We did think of mentioning the rugby game that also happens this Saturday, but as either we will be pleased or most of our readers will be pleased, it is better that we don’t.

In the meantime, another good fun Jay puzzle to deal with.
