Oxford, Friday 7 to Sunday 9 September 2014

A message from Guardian setter Boatman:
“Here’s a new idea, as part of my series of Crossword Masterclasses for aspiring setters: an intensive residential weekend. We’ll meet up at my old college, where you’ll eat in the fabulous 13th century hall and spend two full days talking about crosswords. We’ll cover everything that the one-day class covers and much more, with lots of games, compiling challenges and in-depth development of your own work.
“The cost will be in the region of £550 including accommodation and all meals, and there’ll be packages for partners from £200.
“I think this could be great fun, but I need to know whether you’ll agree. I need at least four students to make the weekend work: could you be one of them? If you think you might be interested, please get in touch as soon as possible – there’s no obligation at this stage – so that I can make the arrangements.
“If you can’t make it in September, I still have a couple of places left on my spring Masterclass in Brighton on Saturday 8 March – please get in touch as soon as possible if you want one of them.
“Hope to see you there!”
