Good morning from South Staffs on a grey drizzly morning, with a possibility of snow later if last night’s forecast is right.
A pangram from Giovanni this week, which I found testing but not as difficult as yesterday’s, though if I added in the time it took to parse 18d it would probably have gone into **** territory.

Morning All! I’m pretty sure that this is a Cephas production – some good anagram indicators to help with the surface readings and a couple of cryptic definitions that always make you smile (sometimes easy sometimes not!). Overall a quick but fun solve.

I filled in the two long answers immediately and thought that the puzzle was going to be a doddle. It turned out to be more difficult than that and some of the wordplay was quite testing.

A couple of clues required considerable research for someone from this side of the Atlantic.

A slightly harder Wednesday puzzle, with a couple of clues holding me up a while in the NE corner. So, a slightly less than 2* for difficulty/3* for enjoyment. Thanks to Jay.

A gentle start to the week. At one time I thought this puzzle was going to put up quite a fight, but suddenly it all fell into place.

We actually have some sunshine in Devon this morning – can Spring be far away? I thought that this was fairly typical of Tuesdays currently – some well-constructed clues, not too easy but certainly not very hard, but nothing really to make me smile. Do chip in with your views!
