Greetings from the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool. We’re teaching three blokes called Len, Craig and Bruno and a woman called Darcey how to dance before some TV show at the weekend. Craig whinges a lot, Bruno flirts a lot and Len has a leery look in his eye. Darcey is charming but pirouettes a lot. This might be a challenge.

Speaking of challenges, we wind up the Toughie week with another elegant challenge from Notabilis, one of Crosswordland’s top setters. The puzzle is full of elegant and tough but totally fair clues, the perfect Toughie and certainly my favourite of the week.

Good morning from South Staffs where the sun is just coming over the horizon as I type this, which I notice is my 50th posting. Doesn’t time fly?

Rather more significantly, a note in the paper tells us that this is Giovanni’s 500th Telegraph Crossword, and I think today’s thematic offering has given us quite a work-out – well into *** territory for me – though if comments from the last couple of weeks are any guide, others may sail through it. Many congratulations to the Don.

Morning All!. I really enjoyed this puzzle particularly when reviewing it. A couple of &Lit clues and some very good surface readings coupled with some nice tricky definitions. A good Saturday Prize Puzzle all in all.
