Prize Puzzle – July 2013

Monthly Prize Puzzle No 14 (July 2013) by Prolixic

+ – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – +

Why not have a go at our latest Monthly Prize Puzzle? As last month’s winner, Kiwi Colin, was ineligible for the prize it has rolled over to this month.  The winner will receive “The Daily Telegraph Cracking Cryptic Crosswords Collection” – four books of daily puzzles in a slipcase, kindly donated by Tilsit.

Please note that, due to punitive postal charges, while the competition is open to all, the prize is only available to UK solvers.

A review will follow after the closing date (20th July 2013).

MPP - 14

The puzzle is available by clicking on the above grid.

I’ve left this post open for comments, but if you don’t want your comment to be deleted then avoid asking for or giving help with the clues.

  1. Some very tricky clues in this one. 21a sounds very uncomfortable too. It was only when the whole grid was complete, and after some searching, that the path to the answer became apparent. Viva la HAG.
    Thanks Prolixic.

  2. Highly enjoyable, made a lot easier by spotting the whereabouts of the title and therefore being able to fill that in about halfway through.
