Puzzazz

+ – + – + – + – + – + – +

A message from Brian Greer, who sets crosswords in the Sunday Telegraph,
the Guardian (as Brendan) and the Independent (as Virgilius).

A company called Puzzazz,, has just started publishing very inexpensive puzzle books in electronic form for iPods and other devices.  What makes them different is that the company is run by someone who combines high technical expertise in IT with high technical expertise in crossword and, more generally, puzzle construction.  The interface is unusually user-friendly, in particular the unique application that allows solutions to be directly written on the screen.  Most of the puzzle collections in the first tranche are American, with just a few cryptics, but they do include Across and Down the Guardian Path wtih Brendan, a selection of 20 Brendans from the last 4 years, soon to be followed by Off the Beaten Path with Virgilius, a collection of 4 each of 5 different crossword variations.
