Northern Sloggers and Betters Meet

Thank you to everyone who came and made yesterday’s meet very convivial and pleasant.  The venue was delightful (although food service was a bit slow!) and it could only be one of our gang who pointed out that the name of the bar, Bramsche, was an anagram of Chambers!

It was of course Big Dave’s birthday yesterday and on arrival he was greeted by a surprise visit from the fine gentleman above, none other than our very own Myops (aka Mr Wee Stinker!).  Myops and his family were on their way to Sheffield for the snooker and made a diversion to say hello.

It was great to see so many nice people there including Anax (Elkamere), Lato (Tyrus), Tramp,  Radler, Gervase, Sue and Steve. Steve and Maureen, Colin,  Sylvia and her family, John from Sunderland, and anyone else I have forgotten.  Hope you all enjoyed it and here’s to the next one!

  1. My thanks too for the chance to say, “Hello”, and apologies that I didn’t to everybody. An early start allowed us breakfast at Bramsche’s (Eggs Benedict can be recommended) but our rendezvous in Sheffield meant that high noon had to be ave-atque-vale.

  2. I was there!
I had a very enjoyable time and Big Dave bought me a drink.
Thanks to Tilsit for organising a meeting in the known world.
