Ok, it’s not a new site but one that has gone through a revamp.  Tony Sever ran his “Times2 RTC” site for a number of years until the new Times crossword website was introduced late last year, which made it somewhat difficult to continue!  At the beginning of this year Tony rebranded the site as “RTC3 – Random Thoughts on Crosswords, Cryptic and Concise” and is using it as a journal for his occasional jottings.

These are well-worth reading, especially the one on how unfriendly he found the Telegraph Puzzles site to be.  His analysis, based on his extensive experience with different online sites, is well worth reading.

I first met Tony a couple of years ago, and our paths have crossed a few times since.  He is a former Times Crossword Champion, and a many-times finalist, although these days he relies on securing his position by accuracy rather than speed.
