Thanks to Radler for another great puzzle which I really enjoyed. Getting the theme early on is a definite help.
Agree with Gazza – I would say that cracking the theme is essential for some of the nine themed clues otherwise the definitions are too wide and can only be narrowed down by knowing the theme.
Overall a really good crossword and enjoyable. It felt very much like some Guardian crosswords.
There were a few places where I had minor reservations about the clues but those are probably where I have misunderstood the wordplay.

I struggle to get on Radler’s wavelength but am continuing to cogitate and perservate and will not be defeated. Probably will be doing same tomorrow but I do like a challenge.

I submitted this puzzle at very short notice. Big Dave was able to prove it could be solved, but there wasn’t time to provide feedback. Consequently some of the clues are a little unpolished and I apologise for any (hopefully minor) faults you may encounter.
Still struggling. Am going to see what a night’s sleep does for my cryptic brain cells. Love 13a!
